Barrow ran out of the house with the man chasing him. DERBY The smiles were genuine Tuesday afternoon as St. Vincent De Paul Helping Hands of the Valley distributed Christmas dinner fixings and gifts to more than needy Valley families. St. Vincent De Paul runs a thrift shop and food pantry. Director Sandi Bailie said she has seen an increased need for the nonprofit organization's assistance. This Christmas, the distribution came Links of London V Charm , worth of food and gifts, Bailie said. Some of the families the nonprofit assisted had already received their Christmas gifts before Tuesday. Single mother Lisa Dezolt of Shelton, who is out of work, said the assistance "brings tears to my eyes." She said "times are hard" and she was grateful to Bailie and shop manager Cindy Barbian. Shari Lotto of Naugatuck, a single mother of two teens, said, "Sandi Bailie is the best. She's awesome. I've never met anyone like her." Another single mother, resident Judy Lynk, said this was the second year she's needed assistance. Her children are ages and . "Last year, they gave me such nice gifts, I was crying." Oxford resident Ruth Rogger said it has been tough on her family, as well. She was picking up gifts for herself and her husband, as well as her son, daughterinlaw and their four children. All of the adults are out of work, she said. "This is a great help," Rogger said, "but I'd rather be the one helping." Crystal DeHart of Waterbury said she appreciated all the support she has gotten for her family, and now her yearold granddaughter as well, over the years. "They always give such nice presents." Food distribution included a turkey, fixings, fresh produce and dairy products, as well as five bags of nonperishable pantry items. Families also received supermarket gift cards. As in previous years, bags links of london sale food were carried out to clients' cars by volunteers led by Jim Guarrera, an owner of Carey Guarrera Realty of Shelton. Volunteers included his employees, Shelton High School students and college students home for Christmas. The food pantry serves about families every week, Bailie said.
